PHONO Festival is an annual international festival for adventurous, electronic music. The festival offers a non-compromising programme including concerts, multidisciplinary performances, light installations, talks and much more. PHONO has since 2006 pushed the boundaries for electronic and experimental music in Denmark. The festival has evolved from a small festival of about 300 people focused on local noise acts and the more extreme subgenres of sound to a much broader pallet of diverse international acts, while still having touch with the local scene of Denmark.
The festival offers a carefully selected programme including artists from across the world and across a numerous genres. The aim for the festival is to balance between contemporary experimental music and present the best music from the club culture, that together creates a forward thinking adventure in music and audiovisual performances. PHONO Festival is a great opportunity to delve deeper into the ambitious world of extraordinary music.
The aim for PHONO is to make sure the audience leaves the festival with a broadened horizon of electronic music, entailing specific genres such as ambient, techno, leftfield, lo-fi, house, footwork, industrial etc. – in short: there’s no boundaries as to which genres are to be experienced at PHONO. Our mission is to challenge people’s perception of what electronic music is and how a concert can be experienced.
